React Native App Developer

We specialise in creating mobile app and web-based financial software. Although we have a fully remote workforce, we are centred in the East Midlands, UK.

What You’ll Do

• Build, maintain, and scale high-performance mobile applications using React Native.
• Collaborate with product owners, backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Integrate APIs and third-party services securely and efficiently.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code with a strong focus on quality.
• Optimize app performance, ensure smooth deployment, and resolve production issues.
• Contribute to technical discussions and help shape our mobile development strategy.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience building mobile apps with React Native.
• Solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern ES6+ features.
• Experience with state management libraries (Redux, MobX, Recoil, or similar).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and third-party integrations.
• Strong knowledge of mobile app deployment (iOS App Store & Google Play).
• Understanding of secure coding practices in fintech or sensitive data industries.
• Bonus: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and performance monitoring tools.

Requirements

• A B.Sc./M.Sc. in a relevant field such as computer science, software engineering, etc.
• or 3 years of relevant industry experience in commercial software development.

Our ideal candidate would have:

• 3 years+ of commercial programming experience, ideally in React Native
• Great understanding of design patterns.
• First-hand experience in creating apps including scaffolding them from the ground-up..
• Extensive experience in version control systems, particularly Git.
• A good understanding of web application security.
• A good understanding of software testing backed with experience.
• A passion for open-source technology.

Salary

Starting salary is negotiated based on previous experience with periodic reviews against a skill matrix. Indicative bands are below, depending on relevant academic background and commercial experience.

• 2-4y relevant experience: £35k-55k
• 5y+ relevant experience: £55k+

Remote First

We have a mission to become a remote-first company.

It is critical that:

• You have a quiet and comfortable location where you can work from home, equipment will be provided.
• You can travel occasionally (2-4 times a year) for team events in the UK.
• You can work typical office times 09:00 to 17:30 (we’ve not transitioned to full flexible working)
• Must be based in the UK permanently.
